Confirm with the equipment maker

  • Which blasting equipment and nozzle models, bore sizes and nozzle conditions are involved?
  • What sourced nozzle air-use data apply at the required pressure and reference conditions?
  • How many nozzles run together, and what are continuous and intermittent work periods?
  • What minimum pressure is required at the tool, and what supply-pressure measurements exist?
  • What are hose lengths, actual internal diameters, fittings and documented pressure losses?
  • Is the site mobile or fixed, and what temperature, altitude, power or fuel constraints apply?
  • What moisture and other quality needs, separate breathing-air systems and project restrictions are documented?

Common sizing mistakes

  • Missing nozzle data remains an open item; it is not a reason to invent a definite flow.
  • Process-air sizing does not approve breathing-air use, and fuel use needs matching machine data.
